16 oz (nowadays, many packages are 13 oz!)
3 cans of Bumble Bee Fancy Whole Baby Clams (10 oz each)
1 6 oz. can Bumble chopped clams
2 – 8 oz. bottles Bar Harbor Clam Juice (or any brand)
2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
Salt & Pepper to taste
2 cloves garlic chopped
1 small onion or half medium onion, chopped
Juice of 1 lemon
Olive oil for sauteing
Fresh pecorino romano (see my post on buying bulk and grating and storing your own)
Peel and chop garlic.
Peel and chop onion.
While sauteing your onions & garlic, boil your spaghetti, drain
In a large deep chicken fryer, add 2 tbsp olive oil and saute your onion approximately 5 minutes until starting to soften.
Add in the garlic and saute one minute.
Add in the crushed red pepper and saute one minute.
Add in the bottles of clam juice, cans of baby clams & chopped clams.
Simmer 5-7 minutes. Taste, add salt and pepper to your liking.
Serve with garlic toast and lots of fresh pecorino romano.
ENJOY! A simple and easy dinner but oh so tasty!
