CHILI

INGREDIENTS:

2 lbs. fresh ground beef (I used 2.26 lbs. as that is how the package was made)

1 quart tomato juice

1 – 29 oz can tomato puree

1 can (18.5 oz) Progresso French Onion Soup

1 can red kidney beans, drained

1 can pinto beans, drained

1 can black beans, drained

1 medium onion chopped

1/4 cup diced celery

1/4 cup diced green bell pepper

3 tbsp chili powder

2 tsp ground cumin

1 1/2 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp dried oregano

1 tsp sugar

1/8 tsp cayenne pepper

1 small can diced green chilies

DIRECTIONS:

In a large dutch oven, brown the ground beef.

Drain the fat.

Put the beef and rest of ingredients back in the pot and simmer 1 1/2 to 2 hours.  Be sure to stir and check every 15 minutes.

You can also cook this in a slow cooker on low for 4-6 hours.
